CURRICULUM

Professional Experience

Senior Researcher and R&D Projects Manager

2010 – 2021

For almost 11 years I have participated in several R&D projects: regional, national and international, during all the development phases, from the writing of the initial proposal to the final review and justification.

I have participated technically, carrying out technical development by programming applications in different languages, developing software and integrating different technologies, including the implementation of the prototypes resulting from the projects.

I have also carried out the management of many of the projects and the management and coordination of a group of fantastic people focused on robotics, artificial vision, automation, digital thread, additive manufacturing…

During all these years I have had direct contact with the companies involved in the consortia of each project, working on the resolution of technical and other issues during the course of the project.

Finally, I have written articles based on the results of the developments carried out and their subsequent defence at international congresses.

Automation Engineer

2007 – 2009

The main tasks were focused on the automation of industrial processes related to the iron and steel sector, specifically rolling mills, programming the movements of the existing machines in the reheating furnace.

The work consisted of programming PLCs, checking the operation of the installed devices, coordinating with other work groups, working at the plant during the commissioning of turnkey projects and solving incidents that occurred during the integration and implementation phase of the project.

Specifically, I worked on two important projects:

  • A rolling mill project in Argentina for the company Acindar.
  • Project of a reheating furnace for moving beams in Barcelona for the company Celsa.

Intern

2006 – 2007

Collaboration grant at the Department of Systems Engineering and Automatics of the University of Vigo.

The work carried out during this period was focused mainly on the development of an application to map the WiFi signal in the facilities using mobile robots locating the points where the robot could have coverage problems.

To improve

Industry 4.0, automation and software development cover several technologies, so it is impossible to be an expert in everything.

I list below a few topics that I can not help you much with, and where I am currently training. However, I know experts who can help you.

Projects

I have been involved in several projects, so it is better mention some of the most important ones.

DIMOFAC project

Digital Intelligent Modular Factories

DIMOFAC H2020 project deals with the impact of digitalisation in the manufacturing environment, enabling modularity, reconfigurability and adaptability in several industrial scenarios.

INTEGRADDE project

Intelligent data-driven pipeline for the manufacturing of certified metal parts through Direct Energy Deposition processes

The main objective of INTEGRADDE is to develop a comprehensive solution capable of demonstrating the potential of DED (Directed Energy Deposition) processes for the manufacture of large certified metal components, applying the concept of end-to-end digital engineering, joining all phases of the manufacturing process, from design and simulation to the final part.

COMMUNION project

Net-shape joining technology to Efficient material hybridization by unconventional lay-up and forming of metals and composites for fabrication of multifunctional structures.

European H2020 project, focused on joining different materials in an automated way through the application of different technologies: robotics, automation, laser…

LAY2FORM project

Net-shape joining technology to Efficient material hybridization by unconventional lay-up and forming of metals and composites for fabrication of multifunctional structures.

European H2020 project in which a new manufacturing process is being developed with the aim of joining and creating hybrid metal/composite materials, focused on the automotive sector.

DIGI4AUT project

Digitalisation of automotive foam manufacturing processes.

Regional project in collaboration with the COPO Group with the aim of applying digitalisation to an industrial environment focused on the automotive sector.

Shipbuilding 4.0

Dynamisation of the innovative capacity of the Galician naval sector.

Regional project in which advanced manufacturing technologies were developed to enable the evolution of shipbuilding sector towards Shipyard 4.0.
